Product Roadmap: Interoperability with Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010
Continuing Laserfiche’s tradition of a firm alignment with Microsoft technology, Laserfiche and Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 will combine to form integrative middleware that strengthens data governance and improves collaborative business processes enterprise-wide.
Laserfiche had a large presence at the 2009 SharePoint Conference to showcase its existing SharePoint solution—Agile ECM engineered with Laserfiche and SharePoint—and discuss how Laserfiche technology will work with SharePoint 2010.
Specifically, Laserfiche will add an ADO.NET provider to its existing SharePoint solution to enable access to Laserfiche data from Business Connectivity Services. Federated search capabilities will enable the Laserfiche search engine to retrieve content from both SharePoint and Laserfiche repositories at the same time. Records Management document categorization will be enhanced through the use of SharePoint Server 2010 Business Connectivity Services. Document content will be more finely tuned to match the topic of portal pages.
Tom Wayman, vice president of product development at Laserfiche, said, “Laserfiche offers an ECM infrastructure that is compatible with Microsoft technologies and the Microsoft skill sets that staff already have.”
Owen Allen, SharePoint senior product manager, Microsoft Corp., added, “Laserfiche is built on the SharePoint 2010 platform to offer customers a way to achieve richer and better collaboration and productivity using SharePoint 2010.”
